“My name is Natalia Tillman and I have been in Prosper ISD since 2011. My husband, Jeris, and I entered the Prosper ISD school district when our son, Titus Tillman, who was 2 years old at the time. We are not your typical family by any means, our son has autism and a speech impairment. We desperately needed help and had no idea what was in store for us.

Titus started in a centralized program (special education classroom) on his 3rd birthday on April 18, 2011. We were so stressed, worried, scared, and tired but everyone in Prosper ISD was very caring and amazing with Titus and us. A little later we had a son, Ezra Cai, who had many medical complications due to a medical misdiagnosis. He had 24-hour nursing, life flights, multiple and long hospital stays, mistreatment by nurses and the list goes on. Titus started acting out since he was at the time non-verbal and couldn’t express his needs to us or others verbally.

Prosper ISD and Rucker Elementary staff were so supportive, caring, and helpful every step of the way - even when things were really bad for Titus during the school day. The school and district would still support Titus throughout this difficult situation and time. After Ezra’s passing on July 1, 2014, we received so much love, support, and care from Prosper ISD that we didn’t know what to do. Even when things got rough and tough for Titus and our family the district was always willing to stand side by side with us.

Fast forward to today, 11 and 1/2 years later we have been shown the same kindness, love, care, grace and respect. Titus is 14 years old and has come along way, and he continues to make great strides. He plays 9th grade football for Rock Hill High School and we are very supported and get a lot of help with Titus while playing football as well as participating in other activities and clubs. Titus will also be participating in powerlifting after football season is over.

Even though it has been a long journey and we were very unsure of how it would work with Titus playing sports with his typical peers, everyone from the head administration, teachers, athletics directors, coaches, staff, students, and other athletes have cheered, supported, loved, and helped Titus and us navigate uncharted experiences and territory with him! Prosper ISD has been the best place and school district for Titus and my preschooler Zaya who will start kindergarten in August 2023. I believe in Prosper ISD and I can’t see our family being anywhere else!”

“Moving my family of 5 from Dallas to Prosper several years ago was a huge life change for all of us, but something we were very ready for prior to our youngest children starting elementary school. We wanted a small town feel, a tight-knit community, wide open spaces, and excellent schools – and I feel that’s exactly what Prosper delivered. As an advocate of advanced academics, a businesswoman, a Mom, and a very active person, I have been incredibly impressed with our community and district in terms of organization, communication, and education. I did a ton of research before choosing Prosper, and the overwhelming majority of friends and acquaintances I talked to spoke very highly of Prosper ISD. I am so blessed and grateful that we made the big move, and so proud to call Prosper our home.”
